It has been more than a month since I got home from Tokyo and I can't even remember a time within the past few weeks that I was not swamped with some kind of work to do that had kept me on busy-bee mode except on two dinner occasions - a great dinner date with my dear hubby and another dinner gathering with a few of our close friends. :S
My week in Tokyo was fantastic, as usual, even though work-meetings took center-stage in the mornings as early as 6.30am and would stretch till around lunch-time. Thankfully, I got to spend daily quality time with my best friend, Kayoko and her beautiful kids, Mishiru & Hikaru; who also happen to be my precious God-children as well. I would feel exhausted by the time 8.30pm came by and return to my hotel room totally beat. Nevertheless, I live for such tender moments because I got to see them, as well as another good friend, Mayako. :D
I will share some of the photos that I have taken during my time in Tokyo in later posts to come. I was lucky to have witnessed the tail-end of the cherry blossom period while being there. God was definitely sweet to me for that! ;) The weather was very cold during that period, despite it being April and already into the Spring season. It was sometimes as cold as 8 degrees when evenings came by, so I was practically freezing my butt off as I didn't pack enough sweaters along for this trip. :S I was hit with a cracked lip and cold sores all over my lower legs that were still in healing mode till 2 weeks after I returned to my sunny island.
I will stop here for now to go gather the photos I have taken of beautiful Tokyo and post them up very soon for all to see. May all of you have a great weekend ahead!
But before I finally pen off, a SPECIAL SHOUTOUT to my dearest nephew, Kingston for turning 17 years old today! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KING-KING! May you have all your wishes and dreams come true! I love you, kiddo! :)

I have been super busy since the last time I blogged, including the past weekend. Most of my time was spent on work, cleaning my home and sorting out my huge array of clothes by picking out the new pieces that I have not worn before, so that I could contribute to the "Animal Welfare" cause that I am hoping to start in the near future. More on this idea in a later post. Anyway, I also managed to sort out the clothes that I had worn in the past but would like to donate to the Salvation Army, by which I did so last Saturday evening. Hurray to that! :)
As for the past two days, I have buried with work, tying-up loose ends and packing my luggage for my trip to Tokyo in a few hours from now. This will be a part-work, part-leisure trip where I will be involved in meeting with my co-workers from my company's Asia-Pacific office in the mornings and then, spending the rest of the days bonding with my two adorable God-children : Mishiru and Hikaru. They are also the kids of my best friend - Kayoko, whom I have known since I was 13 years old. We have a long-standing friendship that has grown stronger and closer through the years, despite the distance between us. :)
It has been 5 months since I was last in Tokyo and this time, I will be there for a week. I will try to blog and share my thoughts and experiences while I am there, so do stay tuned. :) I better go now and catch some sleep before leaving for the airport. I got to be up and about by 5am in the morning anyway. Have a great week ahead, world!

*This blog post was written early Wednesday morning (April 3rd, 2013)
For the past two evenings upon ending the day's work, I have been trying to get my big bum off the couch and onto the treadmill at the gym, like I have promised myself to. But as usual, mental fatigue and pure laziness would first get the better of me. The saving grace this time around was that guilt set itself upon me soon after I'd convinced myself that I deserved some relaxation time. Hallelujah to that! :)
As a compromise, I decided two nights ago to put my Xbox 360 Kinect console to better use than simply watching my nieces and nephews dance away to "Dance Central 2" during family-time on the weekends while I lounge on the couch like a beach whale. I was smiling to myself when I whipped out the "Nike + Kinect Training" disc from the drawer because firstly, I was happy that I did not have to go down to the gym for the day and secondly, the words - "It's gonna be a piece of cake!" came to my mind. What a BIG MISTAKE!!!
Anyway, it all started pretty calm and innocent, with the training program requesting me to choose a trainer and after, to do a series of exercise moves to determine my current fitness and agility levels. I did pretty good during this section, so I was still grinning away to myself like an idiot. Once all that was done, a specific workout program was then tailored to my fitness goals ... hence, beginning what I would call "pure nightmare". Of course, my grin flew out of the window once the training program started and quickly replaced by wide eyes and a hanging mouth.
I felt my mind going into a blank state after 15 minutes into the training and my soul left my body for a moment after it ended about 30 - 45 minutes later. Yep! I was officially a worm by the conclusion of the first training program and I couldn't move from the lying position I was in on my exercise mat! All I'd managed to do was to catch big breaths to fill up my lungs and focus on stabilizing my mind and body, before getting up slowly like a centenarian. :S
The next mistake I did was to lie down on the couch after taking a shower because when I tried getting up from my comfortable position in front of the TV, I felt this sharp pain coming from the inner side of my right knee (an old injury sustained from field hockey and tennis in the past), along with aching thighs, shoulders and butt. I was practically moving like a slow walrus around the house for the rest of the night.
Thank goodness, I had two new rolls of KT Tape that I got from the sports store a few weeks ago. Following the instructions shown on the KT Tape USA website, I managed to apply it onto my inner right knee and surprisingly, I could feel some heat emitting from the tape itself onto my knee within 15 minutes. It sure helped in relieving the pain and discomfort, especially when I had to walk around before hitting the sack for the night. :)
The following evening, I decided to take it back a notch and exercise to something less vigorous. Hence, I settled on doing Pilates instead. I whipped out my Pilates Instruction DVD and popped it into the player. Of course, I was not prepared to go down to the gym due to the aches and pain coming from the different areas of my body. This time, I was glad I made the right exercise choice because I could comfortably complete all the moves in time with the program and I felt great after it concluded. No breathlessness or additional bodily pain, so hurray to that! :D
So, what did I learn from this exercise episode of mine? Never to OVERESTIMATE oneself and to take things in stride, especially when it comes to one's fitness goals and overall well-being. Please wish me luck that I will continue to soldier on (like I have promised myself!) in my fitness regimen in the days to come! I have to scooter off for now as the day's work is awaiting my attention. Have a great day, everyone! ;)
